The SpotOn Quantum Photosynthetic Active Radiation PAR Light Meter removes the guesswork from determining required light for healthy plant growth. This affordable quantum meter accurately measures Photosynthetic Active Radiation (PAR) from any kind of light source found indoors or outdoors. Use for the greenhouse, field, and various R&D applications. Horticulturists, foresters, agriculturists, arborists, researchers, botanists, etc. can now get accurate PAR light readings outdoors, from full sun to full shade. It also correctly measures the PAR indoors from different kinds of synthetic lighting: LED, high pressure sodium or metal halide, fluorescent, halogen, and more.
The SpotOn Quantum PAR Light Meter has a range of 0.1 µmol m-2 s-1 from 0.0 to 99.9 for PAR light, and range of 0.0 to 560.0 moles m-2 day-1 for Daily Light Integral. The accuracy of the SpotOn Quantum PAR Light Meter is +/- 5%. Each meter is calibrated to a NIST traceable light sensor on a broad-spectrum light source.
This Quantum PAR Light Meter has three modes of operation:
- Instant Spot Measurement Mode for PAR light readings,
- Scan Mode to quickly get the average PAR of an area, and
- DLI Mode that shows the Daily Light Integral, readable from the unit's LCD. The Daily Light Integral is continuously captured every 3 minutes, even if the meter's LCD is turned off.
Measuring only 5.75" x 1.75" x .85" and weighing only 0.17 lbs, the Quantum PAR Light Meter is compact and easy to use. It has an IP-65 rating so it can be used in rain, irrigation, and condensing environments, as long as it not submerged in water. The unit also comes with an integral mounting plate so the quantum meter may be used as a stake, hanging on a lanyard or hook, or as an individual standing unit. Its 1/4-20 threaded hole makes it possible to be mounted on camera tripods and stands. Each unit comes with a CR2032 3v coin cell lithium that has a 2-year battery life.
