The Amerex High-Performance Fast Flow Regular Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers (Class B:C) are high-power extinguishers that use a siliconized sodium bicarbonate agent to stop Class B (flammable fuel/gas) and Class C (electrical equipment) fires. Sodium bicarbonate smothers Class B fires and is electrically non-conductive. Different from standard-performance Regular Dry Chemical extinguishers, High Performance Fast Flow extinguishers are specially made for high-risk, demanding industries such as oil, gas, chemical, and utility industries where fast knockdowns of three-dimensional fuel fires are needed. The High Performance Fast Flow Regular Dry Chemical Extinguisher is available in capacities of 20 lbs and 30 lbs.
High Performance for greater range. High Performance Amerex extinguishers have a greater horizontal and vertical range than standard-performance extinguishers thanks to the 240 PSI operating pressure. This allows a professionally trained industrial firefighter to put out more fire faster than same-size standard performance types. High Performance ABC extinguishers have a considerably longer discharge range (40-50 feet) than standard same-size Amerex ABC extinguishers (15-21 feet). This allows operators to stand farther from the fire, keeping them better protected. High Performance Amerex extinguishers are safe to use from -65 °F to 120 °F. Fast Flow for greater discharge rate. Fast Flow extinguishers discharge at high flow rates, which means they deliver more pounds of chemical per second. This makes FF models the safest and fastest extinguishers for knocking down three-dimensional and fast-moving fires which often occur in high-risk areas. Because of the higher discharge rate, they deplete faster than their Compliance Flow counterparts and standard-performance extinguishers.
User-friendly design. High Performance extinguishers feature extra-large stainless-steel handles and ring pins with extra clearance for firefighters’ gloved hands. The pull pin has a large loop for easy pulling, and all units are bar-coded and printed with bi-lingual labels. Because stored pressure extinguishers have fewer moving parts than cartridge-operated extinguishers, they require lower maintenance and repair costs over the entire life of a unit. Recharging a unit is inexpensive with no cartridges to replace.
High-quality, all-weather construction. Amerex High Performance extinguishers feature an Amerex-exclusive, shot-blasted, galvanized steel cylinder that offers greater corrosion resistance than paint finishes which tend to corrode when scratched or chipped. The cylinder is further protected by high-gloss polyester powder paint. They also have a chrome-plated brass valve which is heavier-duty than aluminum valves. The simple stored pressure design minimizes moving parts, which then minimizes chances of unnoticed tampering, clogged elbows or hoses, and other malfunctions that commonly occur with cartridge-operated extinguishers. All units have a molded vinyl ring at the bottom to add extra protection for the paint.
