    The Petzl Chicane Auxiliary Brake allows the ZigZag and ZigZag Plus Prusik Pulley to be used with a single rope set up. This braking mechanism provides continuous friction for a more precise descent. The Chicane Auxiliary Brake is best used with low-stretch kernmantel ropes that have a diameter of 11.5mm to 13 mm. It can withstand a total working weight of 320 lbs. The Chicane Auxiliary Brake faciliates movement when limb walking and has a handy grip for a more comfortable feel on the hands. The Chicane's side plates may be opened for easy installation, but has a triple-locking action to avoid accidental opening of the plates.
