The Flame Resistant Tesacafe Brush Shirt by Crew Boss is a unique and highly-functional FR shirt that offers exceptional comfort and protection to wildland firefighters. This shirt shares a lot of features with the Crew Boss Traditional Brush Shirt, with a few key changes for better practicality including the 3” standup collar with a hook-and-loop strap closure that improves neck protection and comfort. Instead of the usual front buttons, it has a fabric-hidden, nickel-plated snap front closure which makes changing faster and gives the shirt a more streamlined look.
The Brush Shirt has two Velcro large breast pockets and a shoulder-mounted pen pocket for holding small personal items. The cuffs can be adjusted using Velcro closures to ensure a tight fit at the glove. The full-cut shoulder and body design, 30” extra-long square-cut tails, bar-tacked stress points at 10 locations, and the high-quality Nomex thread throughout the shirt all add to the exceptional quality of the Brush Shirt.
Nomex is known in the industry for superior arc- and fire-resistant fabrics. Nomex fabrics have permanent fire protection properties that won’t wash or wear out, ensuring that all Nomex garments won’t melt, drip, or support combustion in the air. An interesting fact about Nomex is that when exposed to intense heat, it carbonizes and thickens, therefore increasing the barrier between the heat source and the skin. This provides you a few extra seconds of protection to effectively minimize burn injuries.
