The Rock Exotica Unicender Climbing Mechanical Friction Device is a heavy-duty and durable device used by arborists to ensure safety and quality performance during ascent and descent procedures. This all-in-one ascender/descender gear acts as a mechanical split tail and replaces the friction hitch, and is constructed for those professionals who use both the stationary and the moving rope technique (MRS & SRS). It has a unique design which allows smooth gliding when partnered with climbing ropes, and provides the user with efficiency and ease of use.
Heavy-Duty Function: The Unicender Mechanical Friction Device is made from solid T6 Aluminum Alloy Material, ensuring a strong and rigid function for day-to-day climbing applications. It allows frictionless motion during ascending, and preserves the climbing line from harsh abrasion. This device comes with activation bars that are used to regulate and adjust the speed during descent, for a safer and more accurate procedure during stationary rope systems.
The Unicender Climbing Mechanical Friction Device can accommodate ropes that are 11 to 13mm (7/16" to 1/2") diameter, can last up to 18 months of usage, and naturally wear from rope abrasion. It is attachable mid-line, provides an easy user transition from MRS to SRS, and meets the standard requirements (ANSI) for mechanical friction devices, making it a reliable and effective climbing utility for beginners to professional tree professionals.
