Made from a 5-pound forged American high carbon steel, the Council Tool Square Head Splitting Wedge is designed to help split logs, firewood, staves, and other wood items faster. To use the wedge, an axe or a maul is always needed to start a notch and should be struck by a sledgehammer or a maul that has a large striking face. The 9.375-inch in length wedge is beveled to prevent chipping and cracking. It is hand-sharpened and coated with a clear lacquer to prevent rust.
