Made in the USA, the Turf-Tec Soil Compaction Tester / Dial Penetrometer is a simple tool that measures hardpans at different soil depths in compliance to the ASAE S313.3 standard. With this easy to operate dial penetrometer, you can test soil profiles down to 24 inches deep. It is often used to determine the feasibility of farming and evaluate the turfgrass area.

Measuring 37 inches long, the Turf-Tec soil compaction tester includes two tips - a 1/2” diameter tip for firm soil and a 3/4” diameter tip for soft soil. The dial has two scales (one for each tip) that are calibrated in pounds per square inch (PSI) of the base area of the cone-shaped tip. It is equipped with rubber grip handles and features a stainless steel rod with an adjustable shock collar to prevent damage to the gauge during transport and use.

The Turf-Tec soil compaction tester features an easy to read, stainless steel dial that is liquid filled to reduce shock. This dial is also color-coded in green, yellow and red testing ranges to determine if the soil conditions are good, fair or poor. It includes a hanger hole with a nail for secure storing and covered by a 1-year limited warranty.
