Equipped with a 1/4" stainless steel loading piston, the Turf-Tec Pocket Sand Penetrometer is used to determine the existence of fried egg lie development in sand traps. It can also test bunker sand if it's playable with golf balls. This tool is excellent on sand trap reconstruction, renovation, and addition. For excavation jobs that need to comply with OSHA standards, you can also verify whether the sidewalls need shoring using this pocket penetrometer.
To directly read the scale in tons/sq. ft and kg/sq. cm, simply slide the red ring down against the sand penetrometer handle while gripping the knurled portion of the handle. By placing the attached golf ball over the bunker that you will be testing and pressing it down until the golf ball reaches the centerline, you can measure the unconfined strength on the lower side of the red ring. Additionally, its calibrated spring and penetrometer body is plated for durability and rust resistance.
Comply with construction regulations and prevent project delays with this easy to use pocket sand penetrometer by Turf-Tec. It can measure unconfined strength between 0.25 to 4.5 tons/sq. ft (kg / sq.cm) with scale divisions of 0.25 tons/sq. ft (kg / sq.cm). It also comes with a 1-year limited warranty.
