It provides a solid barrier that helps in securing the rope strands, and avoiding excess abrasion when connected to other gears. 

High-Quality Construction: This CT thimble is made of HDPE plastic material, making it lightweight but can easily be spliced to slings and ropes. It is designed with high walls, to ensure enough fit and proper positioning in the working line. It works well with ropes with 10-12mm in diameter, and it also gives structure to the eye sling, preventing deformation and kinking.
