It provides a solid barrier that helps in securing the rope strands, and avoiding excess abrasion when connected to other gears. This thimble acts as a fixed end for prusik loops on lanyards, or slings, depending on the needs of the user.

It is designed as a semi-enclosed thimble, to ensure enough fit and protection for the working line. It works well with ropes, with TreeSave (3/11),  and it also gives structure to the eye sling, preventing deformation and kinking.
