The Camp Giant Climbing Descender is a simple yet efficient tool used by arborists for an easier and faster descent during climbing procedures. This device is also designed as a fall arrest equipment during rope transfers, as an ascender with its smooth upward glide function,, and as a belay device during climbing applications, making it a versatile and reliable climbing tool for the tree professional.
High-Quality Construction: This climbing descender is made from high-quality, hot-forged aluminum material, comes with a patented internal built and mechanism, and has an advanced function for a more efficient control even when used with heavy loads. It can be used for as an ascender/descender for loads up to 462 lbs, and as a fall arrest device of loads up to 265 lbs. This device features an extra lock off position, an easy opening to adjust the rope without removing the carabiner, and an anti-panic system on its lever, in cases of excessive pressure.
It also has an external button that holds the cam open for easier rope movement (in limited or no load situations), and a simpler design for reliable rope installations during use. This Giant Descender has a working load limit of 4,496 lbs. (20kN), and conforms to the following standards: EAC, EN 12841 (rope access equipment for 10-11.5mm D ropes), EN 341/2A & ANSI/ASSE Z359.4 (as rescue descender for 10.5mm and 11mm D ropes), and EN 15151-1 (as a gear for 9.9-11mm D ropes used for mountaineering).
