Based on the technology developed by the USGA, the Turf-Tec FieldScout TruFirm Tester with Bluetooth offers a convenient and practical method to measure the firmness of turf and sand bunkers. The data acquired from the tester helps golf course owners reach the desired stability of course greens, fairways, and other playing surfaces.

Measuring 27 inches high and weighing 4.3 pounds, the FieldScout TruFirm is lightweight, portable, and user-friendly. The instrument utilizes a 1.7-inch hemisphere-shaped impact hammer that simulates golf ball drops. This ball-shaped mass is dropped from a height, and the maximum turf penetration is then recorded and correlated to the surface firmness. Upon plotting, recorded data is displayed on the backlit LCD and instantaneously received by a handheld device via Bluetooth. 

The Turf-Tec FieldScout TruFirm tester uses a free app or the SpecConnect paid app, which allows users to monitor over nine distinct segments. It uses two AA batteries (included) and has a 1-year limited warranty.
