The Aervoe Buttercutt Cutting and Tapping Compound is a metalworking fluid formulated to reduce wear on tools and machinery parts. Designed for precision and close tolerance operations such as drilling, milling, tapping, and boring, it provides excellent tool point lubrication and resists etching or staining. It forms a high-temperature, high-pressure film that offers a flash point of 550 degrees Fahrenheit (288 degrees Celsius).
This metalworking compound by Aervoe features a biodegradable and non-hazardous formulation that is certified by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as 98-percent biobased product. It uses a special fatty compound from natural lard oil for superior binding properties. It contains no solvents or harmful vapors making it safe not only for the user but for the environment as well.
The Aervoe Buttercutt Cutting and Tapping Compound can be applied on stainless steel, nickel, copper, and other metal alloys. It is not recommended, however, for use on electrical equipment or machinery while in operation. It comes in one-gallon or one-pint container and is sold by case of two or 12. It meets the 7CFR Part 2904 requirements and includes a one-year manufacturer’s warranty for guaranteed reliable performance.
