250 lbs Wheeled Copper Fire Extinguisher (Class D)

The Amerex 681R 250 lbs Wheeled Copper Fire Extinguisher (Class D) is an industrial high-hazard fire extinguisher designed to suppress difficult lithium fires. It uses a copper dry powder extinguishing agent, an agent specially developed by the U.S. Navy to fight hard-to-control lithium and lithium alloy fires. The agent is pressurized with argon to a low regulated pressure of 125 psi to avoid disrupting the burning lithium materials. The Amerex 681R is recommended for the semiconductor industry, battery manufacturers, and any facilities with huge amounts of lithium shavings or dust such as warehouses, factories, and laboratories.

Superior firefighting power. The Amerex 681R contains 250 lbs of copper powder agent, a non-invasive and non-combustible agent that does not physically or chemically react with combustible metals or metal alloys. It serves as an excellent heat sink that provides a quick cooling effect, and it is 2 to 3 times more effective than graphite in suppressing lithium fires. Because it is heavier and denser, it can cling to vertical surfaces to effectively suppress three-dimensional and flowing fires. Although the Amerex 681R has a short range of 4-8 feet, it compensates for that with the above-average discharge time of 120 seconds. Please note that the 681R is not recommended for lithium-ion battery fires which are classified as Class B fires. 

User-friendly. The Amerex 681R has a steel cylinder containing the agent and a separate cylinder containing 110 cu. ft. of argon to pressurize the agent. It has live swivels on the agent discharge valve and a quick-opening brass valve on the argon cylinder for easy operation. The 36” steel wheels are well-balanced for quick transport and come with non-sparking rubber treads to ensure safety. The agent can be aimed at the base of the fire using the 25-feet hose. The agent cylinder is labeled with a large instruction pictogram for quick reference and an FM label with a QR code.

Heavy-duty. From the heavy-duty steel cylinder to the carriage, the Amerex 681R is made of durable metals to guarantee long shelf life. It has a DOT/TC steel argon cylinder with a brass valve, stainless-steel collars, chrome-plated brass fill caps, brass hose fittings, a steel hose rack, and a brass regulator. The Amerex 681R is safe to use in temperatures ranging -40º to 120º.
