Multi-purpose ABC agent. The Amerex 488 contains 125 pounds of the ABC dry chemical agent, a unique, specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate dry chemical that is yellow in color. It insulates Class A fires and smothers and breaks the chain reaction of Class B fires. It will not conduct electricity back to the operator. The ABC agent is free-flowing, non-abrasive, water-repellent, and does not produce toxic effects when used. It can produce mild corrosion when mixed with moisture in post-fire situations, making prompt cleanup extremely important. The Amerex 488 has a discharge range of 30-40 feet and a discharge time of 48 seconds.
