The SubSurface Instruments PL-960 Pipe and Cable Locator detects live, electrical currents from underground service utilities. With a depth range of up to 16 feet, this pipe and cable locator is ideal for excavations, pipe laying, cable repairing, and utility installation. In addition, the PL-960 is fitted with a Single Coil Antenna that tracks a buried metallic line utility over a long distance and a Differential Coil Antenna that locates the same utility accurately.
The PL-960 locator features variable high-frequency ranges to locate and track the hidden metallic line utility. It has adjustable sensitivity and two-way confirmation that simplifies the utility identification process. For added precision, it is equipped with two receiver operating modes (Peak and Live Cable) and two transmitting modes (Radio and Minimum). The Radio Mode adds another function to track the buried metallic line utility without using the power from the transmitter, while the Minimum Mode indicates the location of the receiver when it is positioned at the right or left side of the buried metallic line utility.
Reliable and accurate, this SubSurface utility locator includes a backlit LCD display with continuous bar graph and keypad that helps construction professional control the locator's features. With a transmitter battery life of approximately 20 hours and receiver battery life of up to eight hours, this pipe and cable locator also comes with a loud audible alert that notifies the operator when an underground utility is located. Having an IP65 protection rating, it can effectively withstand harsh weather conditions.
