Overview for Council Tool 38PE136FG Pulaski Fire Axe w/ Straight Fiberglass Handle

The Council Tool Pulaski Fire Axe w/ Straight Fiberglass Handle is believed to have been developed in the early 1900's by Edward Pulaski, who was a Forest Service Ranger in Idaho. It has been known that his presence saved the lives of 45 men in August 1910 during a large fire. This tool has a traditional single bit axe blade on one end and a mattock blade on one perfect for digging or grubbing.

This Council Tool Pulaski Fire Axe is made of a 3.75-pound steel head which measures 8.5-inch in length. It is connected onto a 36" Black-jacketed fiberglass handle. It is secured by a strong epoxy forming both chemical and mechanical bond. The handle is made of a durable engineered polymer material which is non-conductive and non-corrosive. The blade is coated with red enamel while the 5-inch cutting edge is coated with a clear lacquer to prevent rust.

In addition, the Council Tool Pulaski Fire Axe w/ Straight Fiberglass Handle is made in the USA and exceeds ANSI standards.
