Precise and reliable, the Generac Pre-Wired Automatic Transfer Switch w/ Built-in Load Center is designed for a smooth and safe transfer of electric current among multiple sources and loads. When there is a loss of utility power, this automatic transfer switch automatically starts up the generator and transfers the load to it. Also, it safely switches the load from the generator back to utility once power is restored. This pre-wired transfer switch is designed to operate with 8-17 kilowatt air-cooled generators.
This Generac Automatic transfer switch has a utility voltage drop-out of less than 60 percent and a utility voltage pick-up of greater than 80 percent. Its engine has a warm-up delay of five seconds and has a cool-down timer of up to 60 seconds. Electrical transmission is relatively fast at 30 milliseconds.
This transfer switch features a National Electrical Manufacturer's Association (NEMA) enclosure with weatherproof conduits for generator connections. Also, it can be operated manually without power applied. To resist welding and sticking, this transfer switch's main contacts are silver plated or made of silver alloy.
