The Collomix KR120HF "Bird Cage" paddle is crafted specifically semi-liquid materials. This paddle is intended to be used to make small batches of product compounds. As with all of the Collomix stirrers, the paddle is compatible with their HexaFix Quick Couple technology. The advantage of HexaFix is that it allows for easy, quick, and neat attachment and detachment. This is quite advantageous when you need to switch paddles to go from one mixture to the next. The Quick Couple makes a messy pain-in-the-neck into a quick switch.
What to Use a KR Stirrer For
The first two letters "KR" tell you what sort of compounds this mixing stirrer should be used for. Ideally, it should be used for spreading mixtures like fillers, thick plasters, sealing and grouting compounds, adhesive mortar, and leveling materials. Though not primarily intended for this, it can be used for paste, coverings, epoxy-resin, thin-bed mortar, tile adhesive, and gypsum plaster.
This paddle uses side-to-side mixing action. This prevents splashing and uneven mixing (no denser materials in the bottom of the bucket).
120 Compatibility
As with all paddles that have "120" in the model name, based on the diameter, this "Bird Cage" stirrer, it should be used, ideally, with the Xo 1 hand-held mixer.
What Does "HF" Mean?
HF stands for HexaFix. This is an indication that this mixing stirrer is compatible with Collomix's Quick Couple technology (as opposed to the older M14 version).
The Collomix KR120HF has welded, reinforced joints. This provides greater durability. It also has Collomix's powder-coated finish which allows for super easy cleanup.
