The Mutual Industries Floating Turbidity Barrier is designed to contain and control silt in a limited area allowing it to settle before flowing to adjacent or adjoining waterways. It measures 5’W x 50’L providing a standard depth of five feet. It features a laminated vinyl/polyester fabric curtain with heat sealed seams to prevent the water from getting in. It also comes with edge reinforcement made of 5/8-inch thick polypropylene twisted rope.
Equipped with 48-inch long EPS foam blocks, this turbidity barrier by Mutual Industries offers up to 26.7 pounds per foot buoyancy to keep the curtain suspended. To hold it in a vertical position, on the other hand, it includes a galvanized steel ballast chain and aluminum stress plates at its top and bottom corners. An optional safety snap top connection constructed of galvanized steel is also available.
The Mutual Industries Floating Turbidity Barrier enables laced connection with brass grommets on its edges that measure approximately 12 inches (outer circumference). Ideal for construction and industrial use, it complies with the DOT Type 1 or Type 2 specifications. It is also covered by a six-month manufacturer’s warranty to guarantee functionality and reliability.
