The Council Tool Boy's Axe w/ Curved Hickory Handle is designed with a 2.25-pound Dayton axe head and attached onto an option of 24 or 28 inches handle. The Dayton pattern is believed to have originated from the Dayton, Ohio area. This is a medium-sized axe and a great tool for camp chores like splitting, chopping and hammering.
This Boy's Axe is made of a 6.50-inch steel blade and a curved handle made from hickory wood. The head is hydraulically seated onto the handle and secured with a jagged aluminum wedge. Its aluminum material makes it stronger and does not change in size when exposed to any moisture content. It is hand sharpened and tapered for cutting and light splitting purposes. The blade is heat coated with red enamel while the 4-inch cutting edge is coated with clear lacquer to prevent rust.
In addition, the Council Tool Boy's Axe w/ Curved Hickory Handle is made in the USA and exceeds ANSI standards.
