The Panama Backpack Drip Torch is a popular alternative to traditional drip torches because of the backpack design that reduces operator fatigue. The 1.5-gallon steel tank has 1.5”-wide adjustable backpack straps that efficiently distribute the weight of the tank across your shoulders so you won’t have to carry the drip torch by hand for long hours. This is especially useful when performing prescribed burns over a large area.
Convenient design
The 30 hose and 24 fire wand also reduce fatigue by making it easy to put the fire where you want it without unnecessary straining and stooping. It also has a streamlined burner assembly that won’t snag in bushes and a fiberglass wick igniter that is proven to be longer-lasting, therefore requiring fewer replacement costs, compared with other brands in the market.
Safety features
This gravity-fed drip torch uses diesel fuel or kerosene, with a variety of safety features that ensure proper handling of fuel at all times. Its vent valve has an internal check valve that prevents the fuel from leaking in case the tank is turned over. It also has a loop in the fire wand to prevent flashbacks and a filler cap with a no-leak seal. The vent valve prevents pressure build-up, and the “anti-spill” tubing directs the fuel from the vent valve back into the tank. The regulator valve controls fuel flow.
With its convenient design and safety features, the Panama Backpack Drip Torch is ideal for safe and less-tiring backfiring.
