The Amprobe AMB-3 Analog Insulation Resistance Tester is a small analog meter that is used for insulation testing of wires, cables, transformers and electrical motors. This tester uses a core-magnet type meter and it helps cut unscheduled downtime and lessen shock hazards. Featuring a selectable DC test voltage of 250 to 500 volts, the AMB-3 tester offers an insulation resistance range of up to 100 Megaohms with an accuracy within ±5 percent of the value indicated in the primary effective scale range.
This Amprobe insulation resistance tester features a built-in voltmeter that tests voltage up to 600 volts AC/DC and it tests for low resistance up to 100 ohms. It comes with a manual range selection knob that electricians and electrical contractors to choose which function to use. Also, the AMB0-3 analog insulation resistance tester automatically unloads capacitance for the safe removal of the test leads from the device.
The Amprobe AMB-3 analog tester includes an LED HV "ON" indicator that turns on when the high-voltage power source (500V) is on. In addition, it has a position pointer adjustment that adjusts the placement of pointer to promote accurate testing.
