The Amerex 491 300 lbs Direct Pressure Wheeled ABC Fire Extinguisher is a portable, large-capacity extinguisher for facilities with extra-high risks of large-scale Class A (ordinary combustibles), B (flammable liquid/gas), and C (electrical equipment) fires. This regular direct pressure extinguisher uses a 55 cubic foot nitrogen cylinder with a quick opening brass valve to pressurize and completely discharge the cylinder. Because of its sturdy wheeled trolley, it can be easily transported by a single person anywhere in your facility, making it ideal for construction sites, airports, parking lots, loading docks, and other large commercial and industrial spaces with high amounts of highly combustible materials. The Amerex 491 can come with a pair of standard steel wheels or steel wheels with rubber tread for rough, uneven terrain.
Superior firefighting power for extra-high hazard areas. The Amerex 491 contains 300 pounds of the ABC dry chemical agent, a unique, specially fluidized and siliconized mono ammonium phosphate dry chemical that insulates Class A fires and smothers and breaks the chain reaction of Class B fires. It will not conduct electricity back to the operator. Using the nitrogen cylinder, the agent is discharged to a range of 30-40 feet and with a discharge time of 60 seconds. With a UL rating of 40A:320B:C, the firefighting power of the Amerex 491 is equal to that of 50 gallons of water. One unit can suppress 320 square feet of Class B fires.
User-friendly portable design. The Amerex 491 is designed to be as compact as possible to make it easy to maneuver and transport in narrow hallways, doorways, and confined spaces by a single operator. The 36” X 6” steel wheels can move on sandy or soft soil and is available with an optional rubber tread for rough and uneven surfaces. It comes with a 50 ft hose with a 1” diameter for easy and safe agent application, and it is labeled with a large instruction pictogram for quick reference and a UL/ULC label with QR code. It also has a 4” stainless steel fill opening with a rugged chrome-plated brass cap that makes servicing easier.
