The SubSurface Instruments PL-960 Pipe and Cable Locator detects live, electrical currents from underground utilities with its transmitter and three active frequencies of 27, 83, and 334 kHz. The SubSurface PL-960 also locates buried pipes or cables. Features such as adjustable sensitivity and two-way confirmation simplify the process of finding pipes and cables. And with two operating modes and an IP rating of 65, the PL-960 can easily adapt to any surrounding while maintaining its accurate performance.
3 Active Frequencies
The SubSurface utility locater gains its versatility from a wide frequency range. These frequencies are actually generated by the included transmitter. With any of these frequencies, you can also detect a buried utility as far down as 16 feet.
Long Distance Location
This utility locator has a built-in single coil antenna which locates live utilities over a long distance. It also has a differential coil antenna that locates the same utility as backup.
The PL-960 has a LCD display and keypad that helps construction professionals control the many features of their utility locator. You can adjust the PL-9600’s sensitivity while it’s depth detection lets you know if a utility was buried properly.
Four Operating Modes
A radio mode, peak mode, and live cable mode give you the variety you need to use your pipe and cable locator in different job sites. The PL-960 also has a unique minimum mode which tells you whether you are standing to the left or the right of the buried utility.
Despite which mode you select, this pipe and cable locator will notify you with a loud audible tone when it has located an underground utility and provide a continuous bar graph on the LCD display. The stronger the electrical signal, the louder the tone and the farther the graph will stretch across the screen.
