The SubSurface Instruments PL-2000 Utility Locator PL-9200 offers construction professionals three active frequencies and two passive frequencies to detect any pipe or cable in the field. The PL-2000 also locates the depth of utilities up to 16'. Four operating modes with adjustable sensitivity and dual sense recognition make utility location both quick and simple. You can monitor all these features on the large, LCD display. And with durable, waterproof construction you never have to worry about job conditions affecting your utility locator’s precision.
Active and Passive Frequencies
The PL-2000 receiver works with the included transmitter in locating underground utilities. The transmitter generates three active frequencies, 27 kHz, 8 Hz, and 0.5 kHz, which the receiver detects. The receiver can also generate its own passive frequencies without the transmitter. These two passive frequencies are 50 or 60 Hz frequencies for live, electrical cables and 15 to 25 kHz radio frequencies for other utilities.
4 Operating Modes and Dual Sense Recognition
A peak mode, null mode, DIST mode, and sonde mode allow you to locate almost any pipe or cable. Whichever mode you select, when the PL-2000 successfully locates the utility it produces a loud alert you can hear and an indicator on the display you can visualize.
Large LCD Display with Multi-Function Keypad
A large, LCD display and user-friendly keypad make the PL-2000 utility locator simple to use for beginners or experts. Select your frequency, switch the operating mode, measure the utility depth, and change the audio confirmation volume with just the touch of a button. You can also adjust your utility locator’s sensitivity with two scroll buttons. And if you are working in poorly lit conditions, just turn on the display’s backlight.
