As with all Johnson Level's products, the 1876 digital level is made to last.
The Johnson Level 1876 has a rugged box frame made from aluminum to reinforce its durability. The end-caps are shock absorbing to make them that much more rugged. And for comfort, the level has large hand grips (each of which is fastened in place with screws).

The 1876 Level series are excellent for grades too. They have a reference function that that make any slope to "0.0". Additionally, the working range on angle measurements for these levels is 4 x 90°.
Each level has two bubble vials to read both plumb and level (one for each). And each bubble have Johnson Level's SurroundView technology that helps refract light off the bubbles, making them easier to read. In addition to the visual level indicator, these durable levels flaunt an audible level indicator too.
