The 4" Signal Clamp from SubSurface Instruments PL-9201 helps the PL-2000 transmitter transfer its signal to power cables, telephone cables, or other cables that lack a live, electrical current. A signal clamp serves as a good alternative to alligator clamps, because it does not connect directly to the utility, which may be live.
How It Works
This signal clamp's 16' cable connects to the PL-2000 transmitter at one end and connects around one or more cables at the other end. The signal clamp has a 4" opening, which means that it can fit around one cable that is 4" or less in diameter or a bundle of cables that do not exceed 4" in thickness. Once the signal clamp induces the transmitter's signal into the utility, the PL-2000 pipe and cable locator can easily trace the utility.
