The Haglof DP DME instrument accessory uses ultrasonic signals to measure distances. It calculates the radius in sample plots, and checks if a tree is standing within or outside plot limits.
Wide Measuring Range
With a proven track record, this measuring technique is utilized in forest groundwork worldwide. Since, these ultrasound signals can travel through thick undergrowth and vegetation, and can calibrate 20-30 meter (per yard) distances.
A complete DP DME system kit contains the DP DME measuring instrument accessory, a transponder T3, and a monopod staff with adapter. All accessories are suitable for use with the Haglof DPII computer caliper. Units are designed to maximize accuracy and performance, while minimizing the amount of forest tools needed. (Software is not included and should be compatible for use with the DP DME / DPII calipers.)
The DP DME accessory, measures from the center of the tree to the plot centre where the transponder T3 is placed in the custom monopod staff. All functions are software run and operated. Acts as an additional add-on for the DP Calipers.
The T3 transponder, is equipped with a pin to place directly on a tree stem. Can be used with an adapter and monopod staff to measure in a full circle in sample plot work. With a bright, visible color, the T3 has a distinctly rugged appearance. Compatible with the Vertex IV, Vertex Laser and the DME (DP II and Digitech Professional) Haglöf instruments. One AA battery is needed for operation.
Made from bright blue, aluminium material with a pointy end, this sturdy, light-weight monopod plot staff is custom produced. Mounted on a plot staff, the adapter allows for full 360° circle measurements.
