This Alvin CK55 Chair Height Extension Kit comes with strong cylindrical steel shaft with tapered end to lock into the chair base.
It adds approximately 7-1/2 inch to the height of the chair.
The foot ring models can be adjusted vertically and then locked at the desired height.
