The Calculated Industries Home ProjectCalc is a calculator for tracking the material and cost of completing home projects. There are built-in project functions to calculate solutions for the 5 most common project materials. You can use it to track do-it-yourself projects or monitor work being done by a contractor. This calculator is a handy tool for homeowners, do-it-yourselfers, and anyone that needs quick accurate answers for material and cost involved in home projects.
Built-in Project Keys
The Home ProjectCalc has keys specifically designed to help you track projects. There are dedicated keys for paint, wallpaper, tile, carpet, and concrete. Each key calculates based on the material. For instance, the “Paint” key calculates the required amount of paint based on the size of the area being painted. And the “Wallpaper” key calculates the number rolls based on the area being covered. Use these functions along with the “Cost” to determine the amount and cost of material needed for your project.
Carpet and Rolled Flooring Calculations
Use the Home ProjectCalc to calculate carpet and any rolled flooring in three common widths based on the total square footage of a room. Begin by measuring the area of the room, adding about 5% for waste to display the square feet of needed flooring. Now, press the “Carpet” to display the square yards needed. Additional presses display the amount need for 12' roll, 13' roll, and a 15' wide roll, successively. Select a width, multiply by the cost per lineal foot, and then press “Conv” and “Cost” to display the cost.
Determine Cost and Material for Paint
The Home ProjectCalc performs calculations to determine the amount of paint needed to cover a specific area. Note that calculations are based on 350 sq ft per gallon coverage. First, calculate and enter the area to be painted to arrive at the total square feet. Then you can display the amount of paint required and add to that for waste. Alternatively, you can enter the amount of paint on hand and calculate to see how much area it can cover.
The Calculated Industries 8510 Home ProjectCalc also performs basic math, easily converts between decimal and fractions and U.S. and metric units. Its keys are clearly labeled to identify their functions for various material and measurements. The calculator comes complete with a hard case, two 1.5-volt LR43 batteries, and a 1 year limited warranty.
